ESSENTIAL TOOLS FOR SHAKEN COCKTAILS

Our Illusionist Dry Gin serves as the base spirit for all our cocktails. It brings striking color, smooth flavor, and the highest-quality spirit for any drink, including the Sunset 75. In addition to your Illusionist Dry Gin, you'll need a cocktail shaker. Most cocktail shakers are stainless steel, dishwasher-safe, and easy to keep clean. Stainless steel cocktail shakers are suitable for an indoor or outdoor bar.

Your shaker may come with a jigger, which is a measuring tool for mixing beverages. Jiggers are stainless steel and shaped like an hourglass but have one larger side. The smaller side is equal to half a jigger, which is 0.75 ounces. The larger cup is one jigger or 1.5 ounces.

You'll also need a strainer to perfect your Sunset 75 cocktail. Strainers prevent ice shards, seeds, and pulp from getting in your cocktail when you serve it. A wire mesh strainer is commonly associated with straining tea leaves, but mixologists use these strainers when pouring drinks. Bartenders typically use two strainers to ensure they remove all the unwanted bits from their cocktails before serving.

SUNSET 75, A FRENCH 75 TWIST
A TRIBUTE

When creating the Sunset 75, we wanted to pay homage to the classic French 75 cocktail. The French 75 contains champagne, simple syrup, and gin. However, Illusionist Gin brings a unique twist to a classic cocktail with its magical blue color.

Who doesn't love a good champagne cocktail? The classic French 75 looks strikingly similar to a glass of champagne. However, with our twist on this cocktail made with Illusionist Dry Gin, the Sunset 75 is visually stunning, offering a smooth transition from its royal blue hue to a subtle yet eye-catching pink after mixing.

The Sunset 75 is the perfect drink to celebrate any occasion. The champagne gives it a celebratory feel, while the Illusionist Gin adds a touch of elegance. Cheers!

Shaking your cocktail is an essential step in making the Sunset 75 and many other cocktails. It helps mix the ingredients together and also chills the drink. When you shake this drink, you're also incorporating air, which helps give it a light and refreshing texture.

There are a few basic steps you need to follow when shaking your cocktail. First, make sure you have all of your ingredients ready. Next, fill the shaker with ice. Then, add the ingredients to the shaker.

Expert mixologists recommend shaking your ingredients for 15 seconds. Use a back-and-forth motion sending the ingredients from the bottom of your shaker to the top and back. This motion ensures the cocktail's thoroughly mixed, and the ice cools the ingredients so you can serve a chilled cocktail.

Shaking this cocktail is the best way to get a smooth and refreshing drink. It's also a great way to show off your at-home mixologist skills. So next time you're making this delicious drink, make sure to shake it like a master.

To create the perfect Sunset 75, shake the Illusionist Dry Gin, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and chamomile syrup together. The fruit juice and syrup need agitation to bond with the gin, ensuring each sip of your cocktail delivers the same taste and consistency. Put these ingredients in your shaker and add ice.

Once you've shaken the base ingredients, it's time to strain your cocktail into a glass. We recommend filling a chilled glass with ice. For best results, use a Hawthorne strainer and wire strainer when you pour the cocktail into the glass.

You'll notice you still have some room at the top of your glass. Fill that space with your favorite bubbly or sparkling wine. Adding champagne or sparkling wine delivers a different texture to your cocktail, giving it a light and airy taste mixed with the fruity, syrup-based cocktail. Red and white sparkling wine are both options, ensuring you can find the perfect wine to suit your color and taste preferences.

Now that all your ingredients are together, it's time to add a garnish. Garnishes complete the cocktail's look and give each person some control over the taste of their drink. We recommend a lemon zest garnish for your Sunset 75 cocktails. Drinkers who enjoy sourer beverages can keep the lemon, while those who favor sweeter beverages may remove it.
